I'm so proud to announce the promotion of the Usborne Success Builders' 10th team supervisor! Heather Mirman, of Mt. Pleasant, SC joins the ranks of other successful Usborne consultants who are now in leadership positions with Usborne Books and More.



I asked Heather why she decided to start her Usborne Books business and why she decided to promote to supervisor, and this is what she said:



"I started with Usborne simply to get the discount. Then I did a home show and a few booths and found I really enjoy talking about the books. I began doing more, and, after a couple of book fairs at full-time day schools, realized I need a team to take full advantage of all the opportunities. The Power of III program also helped me decide to promote now rather than later. I'm excited about starting this new chapter in my Usborne career."

Brandi Wilkinson, of Summerville, South Carolina, has attained one of the top honors with Usborne Books and More. She has reached the Ambassador Level of the prestigeous President's Club. The President's Club is a club of top Usborne Consultants designed to foster group growth. Not only has Brandi made it to the Ambassador Leve of the Club, she has finished this term in the #2 spot in the Nation!

Usborne Success Builders of Charleston, SC announces their 2010 Summer Reading Program to Benefit "Happy Wheels" at MUSC Children's Hospital

The Usborne Success Builders of Charleston, SC have unveiled their Usborne Summer Reading program to benefit the "Happy Wheels" cart at MUSC Children's Hospital. Usborne Books' Reach for the Stars is a pledge-based reading incentive program and charity bookraiser all rolled into one event. Kids read and earn books for themselves over the 2010 summer while raising books for the children at MUSC. Program details follow.

School is out! Books are always in!

* Children read books of their choice!

* Children earn books, prizes, and awards!

* Children participate in helping other children!

June 21st 1:00 - 6:00 Kick Off Party! Come to the Tupelo Shelter at Wanamaker Park in North Charleston, SC at 1:00 for a pizza party. Pick up your reading packet and pick out what books you'd like to earn from the book display. Pizza available while supplies last. Book display and packets will be available until 6:00 pm. If you are unable to attend your packet will be mailed to you.

Begin getting your pledges! Tell grandma, grandpa, aunts, uncles, friends, neighbors about your summer reading challenge. Ask them to pledge a dollar amount to reward your reading.

Start Reading! All children are asked to read (or for children who do not yet read, be read to) for a minimum of 400 minutes before July 19th.

July 21st Turn in Day! Turn in pledge funds that you raise, and your book list form. Make check or money order out to Usborne Books. Mail to: Usborne Summer Reading, PO Box 3004, Summerville, SC 29483-3004.

August 9th 1:00 Reading Awards Ceremony! Participating children and their families are invited to our reading awards ceremony at 1:00 for an ice cream party at Wannamaker Park in North Charleston, SC. Participants will receive their new Usborne books, prizes and awards. They will also get to see ALL the books they raised for the "Happy Wheels" cart. Attending the celebration is NOT required for participation in the program. Books will be delivered.
